Infants and toddlers need care that is responsive to their individual needs. Therefore, schedules remain flexible so that children are fed when they are hungry and sleep when they are tired. The basic schedule includes the following, although times might vary depending on the family’s need for child care.

6:00 - 8:00 a.m. Arrival
Breakfast
   
7:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon Enrichment activities: Gross motor activities, fine motor activities, outdoor activities and reading
   
12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. Lunch and prepare for nap
Brush teeth
Reading
   
1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Nap
   
3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Enrichment activities (see above)
Departure

Gross motor activities promote the development of large muscles. These activities include rolling over, sitting up, pulling up and walking (for young babies), as well as running, jumping, climbing, crawling and throwing.

Fine motor activities encourage the development of small muscles. Fine motor skills are attained through activities involving picking up objects, putting objects into containers, drawing, painting, tearing and cutting paper, pouring, self-feeding, etc.
