To enroll your child in an Early Head Start program, your child must be age birth through age two or you are pregnant, and the following eligibility guidelines must be met:

  • Family meets federal low-income guidelines. You may be eligible if you are receiving some form of public assistance
  • Parents are working, attending WorkFirst, or completing high school

Other factors that may determine your eligibility for Early Head Start:

  • Child has a diagnosed disability and meets the age and income guidelines
  • Child is in foster care
  •

Early Head Start services are free; however, the cost of child care varies depending on individual providers. If paying for child care is a concern, we can help you apply for child care subsidy payments.
